It’s the height of the holiday season and the best time to come together as a family and enjoy indoor and outdoor adventures together. Hmmm, what should you do?
There are so many fun family activities available on Amelia Island. We’ve narrowed it down to 11 of them to send you on your way.

Amelia Island Downtown Tasting Tours offers two incredible experiences focusing on the wonderful food and beverage of historic downtown Fernandina Beach. You and your family will enjoy meeting the owners, chefs and bartenders who make our quaint downtown a terrific place filled with delicious eats, delightful cocktails, character and charm. Whether you choose the Booze & Bites tour or Cocktail tour, one thing is for sure. Your family will have a blast. 31 S 5th Street

This casual neighborhood bar is the perfect spot for happy hour or an evening of island nightlife, aka line dancing, with family. Not a dancer? No worries. Plan your “escape” at Amelia Island Escape Rooms where you and your family will assemble in a themed room and will have one hour to complete your mission and “escape” the room. A successful escape will require you to find hidden clues and solve challenging puzzles throughout the room. This will not only test your patience with family members but it will also be a chance to put your collective brain power togehther for a rip roaring good time! 1008 South 14th Street
Once called “the back door to America,” Amelia Island’s hidden history is rich with pirate gold, lost galleons, gilded age millionaires, and the dreams of colorful characters. There is also a dark side to our island that needs to be told. Your family will enjoy learning everything there is to know about our storied coast. The good, bad and the ugly. Take a day to visit each of our unique museums.
Calling all history buffs! Civil War era Fort Clinch State Park provides daily fort tours, trails for biking and hiking, beachcombing, sunbathing, swimming, and surf fishing. Families will love traipsing around the fort as soldiers reenact what life was like back in 1864. If you happen to be around on the first weekend of the month, you’ll witness a soldier garrison firing cannons and demonstrating other battlefield skills. 2601 Atlantic Avenue
Who’s up for a family-friendly game of putt putt? Gregor Macgregor’s Mini Links & Drinks combines some of Florida’s favorite pastimes: a round of golf, a tasty drink and beautiful scenery right in the heart of historic downtown. Bring out a little family competition on this lush garden putt-putt course where you can dine on corn dogs, hot dogs, popcorn, jumbo pretzels, and novelty ice cream treats. 201 Alachua Street
Nothing brings a family together like bowling. Or miniature bowling in this case. The Duck Pinz craze has hit Amelia Island and your clan is gonna love it. Duck pinz balls are smaller than regular bowling balls, with no finger holes, and the pins are shorter and lighter than traditional bowling. Since it’s pretty hard to get a strike, you are allowed 3 tries each turn. It’s a good time. Oh, and in addition to bowling, there’s a craft cocktail and bourbon bar upstairs. 27 N 3rd Street
